Casa Maya St Agustine

I must start off by confessing we found this place accidentally. We had been searching throughout the late morning for a breakfast/ brunch style meal and hadn’t been able to find one. We were suggested several places but didn’t like one and the other one was closed.

We were about to give up and while heading to our last option we stumbled upon this one a block away from the place we were going to go! (never got to the place we were going to)

If you follow me on Instagram you know I am a big taco lover and overall consider Mexican food to be one of the best latin foods. So when I saw the place with the name Casa Maya I kinda got my hopes for breakfast back! and guess what? they were serving late breakfast!

The place inside has a small living room type area with a chimney before heading to the bar. We chose to go upstairs since they have a balcony overlooking Hypolita street. It was a nice surprise to see a larger dining area upstairs with AC as well.

We headed to the balcony where most of the guests were eating. Food was amazing, Huevos rancheros with a steak, huevos con chorizo, vegetarian omelet Mexican style sandwiches (called torta), and more.

Besides everything in the menu, the customer service was amazing! Our waiter was knowledgeable and memorized our entire order!

It was funny because he just started asking what we liked and when we realized he was actually taking our order we asked him if he wasn’t going to take notes…nope! he didn’t need it! Everything came in exactly how we ordered it.

and let me tell you… MARGARITAS!!!!!
As you know we drink Tequilas and Margaritas at home in Miami Beach, but these Margaritas were so well prepared. The flavor was light and refreshing from the first sip to the last!

Even if you are not hungry when you get there you must try their churros filled with warm dulce de leche!

Hypolita street overlooks the water in the bay and all tour trolley pass on it and guess what, the trolley stop is right there.

There’s so much goodness in this place that we had to return…the same day…at night for some more margaritas and food! we actually closed the place down (they were so kind not to kick us out and stayed chatting with us until we realized they were already closed), and we had so much fun!

Casa Maya is located on 22 Hypolita St, Saint Augustine, Florida (904) 823-0787
They are open from 10 am to 12 am
