Pasta, rice and Potato

Oh a wonderful comfort food. I mean come on, who doesn’t like a nice bowl of pasta or potato salad, not let me start with chicken biriani or risotto and coming colder days a nice bowl of chicken soup with noodles and carrots and potato…. yummmmm Oh and I was forgetting sushi! Sushi has ben categorized as healthy option of lunch or dinner but just look at it, it is loaded with rice. Some places will offer you a quinoa option or even my favorite no rice, where they fill it with crab meat.

I shortly mentioned it in Step 2 and want to go a little bit deeper on it now. If you are a pasta lover don’t leave, I have a solution for you too, at the end who doesn’t like a good mac&cheese.

But the truth is the way it prepared and processed (even a potato) kicks in load of sugars (read about it here in Step 3)

I know it is hard to switch but we do want to loose weight here so some restrictions are in order.

For pasta/sandwich/rice lovers I would suggest to do some research on Low Carb diet. It consists in restriction of the intake of carbs to minimum on a daily basis and every 5-6 days to have a carb load night (those days worth all the sacrifice). I did it and after maybe 3 cycles I started loosing weight at crazy rate. The most funny fact is that I would loose about 2-3 pounds just after a carb load day. (no guilt at all)

Check this books on Amazon, you can have it with 2 day shipping with prime option.

Also all 3 of this foods are starchy  and this as well mess up with blood sugar. This is why lately people rather eat sweet potato or pumpkin pure, cauliflower risotto and substitute pasta for spaghetti squash or zucchini noodles. If you haven’t try it I would suggest you do and you might even like it more as you don’t have heavy sensation after it and can eat more if you wish.

Besides they are much easier and faster to cook. I also learned if I don’t say people rarely notice that those are not real noodles.

Many supermarkets sell ready to cook veggie noodles but sometimes they cost too much.  I guess because it takes time to make them. If this is your case  here are some options for home spiralizer. I use it all the time as your vegetables will last you longer being whole then already done noodles. You can buy once a week and just get them done at a moment of cooking. this devices are not pricey and very easy to use, don’t occupy much space and easy to clean.
