Cardio is important!

You sure heard about it a lot already. everyone is talking about cardio. As soon as you start a conversation about weight loss you hear “CARDIO”. But it sounds so exhausting.

You are right! It happens to me too. Just from hearing a word “cardio” I get tired and start giving excuses like: “Oh no! I can’t run I am old and my knees hurt. Oh no! I can’t bike, I don’t even own a bike. Oh, I get tired after 10 min of running.”  etc… I bet you’ve been there and even though I never liked cardio ( I even own a t-shirt that says ” I HATE RUNNING” ) but in the reality, it is good for us.

A heart is a muscle and like every muscle, we have to exercise it. Let’s say you have to lift a bucket of water every day. If you sit down around that bucket and try to lift it once a day and just barely move it you will never be able to lift it high or several times. because your muscle is not accustomed to it. Same happens with your heart. I’ve heard so many times old people say :

“My heart is not the same any more, I need to give it a rest. it is tired and weak now.”

cardio is a way to healthy heart

Well here is the truth:  like any muscle your heart needs exercising. Every time you lift that bucket of water your muscle trains, lift it once, next day lifts it twice, lift it 3 times couple of days later. your arm will become stronger and will be able to tolerate more work.

If you want to feel and be young longer, cardio is your best friend. As I mentioned in my post My First 5-10 Minutes Exercise. you don’t need to run a marathon. Start slowly, start by moving just little faster around a house, start by raising your legs one by one instead of running or jumping. Every day you will feel more energetic and will feel like adding some more minutes and train longer. I promise you will feel better and better day by day and every day.
